Why Serbia?

Serbia presents exceptional business prospects in a growth-oriented environment. Efforts are underway to enhance Serbia’s appeal to investors, featuring simplified administrative processes, advantageous tax structures, and targeted incentives across various sectors. Beyond its business potential, Serbia boasts evolving infrastructure, cost-effective living and operational expenses, and a skilled local workforce.

Operating your Serbian business makes you eligible for Serbian residency. This is something you will need if you want to spend most of your time in Serbia, but it can come in handy even if you just come and go. It will make it easier for you to rent or buy property, open a personal bank account, buy a car, get a phone, or gain access to various local services.

While Serbia is not a member of the European Union yet, it is a member candidate, so Serbian citizens already have visa-free access to the Schengen zone. As a Serbian resident, you can also expect an easier procedure when you apply for a Schengen visa.

Moreover, you can share your newly acquired privileges with your family members. Based on your Serbian residency, your spouse and underage children can also receive residency for family unification, so you can move to Serbia together.

FAQ

How long will be my residence permit valid for?

Residency is usually granted for 1-3 years. The validity also depends on the expiry date of your passport, so before you apply for Serbian residency, make sure your passport is valid for at least a few months after the period you apply for.

Do I have to live in Serbia full-time to maintain my residency?

No, you don’t. However, if you intend to renew your residency after it expires, you will be required to spend the majority of your time in Serbia. This means at least 183 days each year.

What is the difference between a registered office and a physical office?

In Serbia, every business needs a registered address where authorities can expect to reach it. You need to choose an address where you can have personnel to receive official mail on your company’s behalf. When you have your registered office with a provider, you are using their address as your own, and they can forward your incoming mail to you or your accountant. However, you cannot use this office for working or meeting clients – for that, you will need a physical office, which we are happy to provide.

Why do I need a business plan?

When you apply for residency based on business operation, you need to prove that your business idea is viable and that it requires your presence in Serbia. That is achieved through submitting a business plan together with your residency application.
